The Program

The program spans 18 months, offering exposure to all facets of the business, designed to educate, foster personal growth, and cultivate professional confidence.
This role involves three rotations, providing experience in our core areas: macroeconomics, economic consulting, and property and construction. A mentor will support you through each rotation, focusing on your development as a professional economist.
As you advance, you will increasingly take charge of generating forecasts using a model framework and conveying economic insights to clients. You will also craft briefing articles on current economic topics, create econometric forecasting tools, and perform scenario and policy analyses.

Key Skills

Essential:
  • A degree in economics or a closely related field (honours highly preferred) with background in academic research, business, civil service, financial services, or consulting.
  • Strong presentation and writing capabilities.
  • Highly numerate with proficient technical skills.
  • Ability to construct logical economic arguments and explain them persuasively to both economists and non-economists.
  • Demonstrate a creative methodology for problem-solving.
  • Take ownership of the quality and timeliness of work.
  • A passion for economics coupled with a drive to acquire the skills and expertise needed for a career.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) with the capacity to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Quick learner with strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capacity to function effectively as part of a larger team.
  • Eligibility to work full-time in Australia.
Preferred:
  • A Postgraduate level degree (honours).
  • Relevant work experience (paid or voluntary).
  • Experience in developing economic models and/or forecasting.
  • Strong proficiency in coding languages like Python and R.
