UNI Europa advocates for its member unions across European service sectors, while NFU fosters cooperation among finance and insurance unions in the Nordic area.

The Director will spearhead regulation efforts to achieve political influence, working closely with colleagues in NFU, UNI, and member unions. The ideal candidate must align with fundamental trade union values and possess a solid understanding of the Nordic labour market model.

The position requires monitoring, analyzing, and influencing trends within the European financial sector; coordinating and advancing NFU’s and UNI’s positions towards the EU; maintaining and broadening a network of Nordic and European members, stakeholders, and decision-makers; and organizing seminars and meetings.

This is a three-year contract position with the possibility of renewal.

  • Attending pertinent EU meetings, conferences, and stakeholder groups for networking, lobbying, and representing UNI Europa Finance and NFU.
  • Overseeing the UNI Europa Finance Regulation Working Group.
  • Arranging conferences and policy-related events.
  • Drafting position papers, briefings, and analytical documents.
  • Consistently providing feedback to the NFU secretariat, Presidium, and Management Board.
  • Collaborating closely with the NFU secretariat and member unions.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Law, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with and knowledge of EU legislative procedures and political lobbying.
  • Understanding of the financial sector, ideally with experience in sustainable finance or digital finance agendas.
  • A team-oriented individual willing to support colleagues during high-pressure periods.
  • Exceptional command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in one of the Nordic languages is preferred.

Conditions

The Director will allocate 50% of their time to NFU-specific tasks and the remaining 50% to duties for UNI Europa Finance. Close coordination with the NFU secretariat is essential, and the role requires willingness to travel to the Nordic region as needed.

Employment will be within the UNI Europa secretariat, adhering to the collective agreement and employment conditions applicable there, including a comprehensive telework arrangement.

The position is based in Brussels, requiring regular travel.
