Tourism Economics, a subsidiary of Oxford Economics focused on analytical consulting within the tourism sector, is looking for a high-caliber Economic Analyst to join our team. The position is located in our Wayne or Philadelphia, PA (USA) offices.
Our clientele includes destination marketing organizations at city, state, and national levels, prominent industry trade associations, along with major corporate owners, operators, and brands within the travel industry. We maintain long-term relationships with many clients, often through subscription services or recurring studies. We cater to a global client base from our offices in the US and UK.
Examples of our work encompass:
- Quantifying the economic effects of visitors, events, and destination marketing initiatives.
- Tracking, modeling, and forecasting the performance of the travel sector.
- Conducting policy and market analyses, as well as bespoke research projects.
Our client portfolio is continually growing across our consulting services. This role will involve assisting with data collection, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis, and preparing and delivering final analytical reports.
The ideal candidate must possess an aptitude for numbers and strong analytical capabilities, alongside excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. This role reports to the Head of Destination Studies and involves close collaboration with senior staff throughout our consulting practice. The position offers daily interaction with a skilled team, including economists and seasoned team leaders. A proactive, eager-to-learn, and resourceful individual will be a valuable addition to our expanding practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze essential third-party statistics.
- Manage and update ongoing recurring research, including charts, reports, and presentations.
- Conduct, analyze, and produce high-quality work demanding accuracy in calculations, data completeness, and adherence to established methodologies.
- Synthesize extensive information and clearly communicate key findings.
- Contribute to online survey research and other client research programs.
- Maintain contact databases.
- Support research projects of varying levels of complexity.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field such as Economics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Detail-oriented, organized, with well-honed skills in data collection and information compilation.
- Familiarity with publicly available data sources (e.g., U.S. Census, BLS/BEA, Statistics Canada) and data platforms like CoStar is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success working both independently and within teams in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and multi-tasking abilities.
- Capability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting with multiple priorities.
- Possess initiative and resourcefulness.
- Experience in consulting is preferred.
