Job Description

S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Pricing and Purchasing team plays a pivotal role in empowering clients to save millions by providing critical insights into price trends, cost structures, and inflation dynamics. By analyzing supplier cost models and breaking down pricing strategies, this team helps clients achieve strategic advantages in supplier negotiations and decision-making.

Role Summary: As a Labor Economist / Data Analyst, you will monitor and forecast labor price trends, delivering actionable insights to clients worldwide. This role emphasizes data-driven analysis and client engagement, helping businesses make informed decisions about wage trends and pricing strategies. With responsibilities ranging from data management to model development, you will directly contribute to improving client outcomes while supporting sales and research efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update historical and forecasted labor pricing data.
  • Develop and refine models for near-term wage and price forecasts tailored to a global client base.
  • Draft monthly and quarterly reports, emphasizing key drivers of labor price trends.
  • Respond to ad-hoc client queries, providing expert insights and methodology explanations.
  • Contribute to model development initiatives and enhance forecasting techniques.

Qualifications and Experience:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics (minimum).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in labor research, data analysis, or economic modeling.
  • Proficiency in statistical tools and modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills with an ability to distill insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Team-oriented mindset and a client-focused approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Economics or a related field.
  • Interest in expanding knowledge across different industries.
  • Familiarity with wage forecasting or industry-specific labor trends.

Compensation and Benefits: The anticipated base salary for this role ranges from $60,341 to $92,000, with adjustments based on location, experience, and qualifications. The role includes eligibility for an annual incentive plan and access to S&P Global’s comprehensive employee benefits package.
