The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) functions as a multilateral development bank with the mission of Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow throughout Asia and beyond, emphasizing infrastructure with inherent sustainability. Operations commenced in Beijing in 2016, and our membership has since expanded to 110 approved members globally. Capitalized at USD 100 billion, AIIB holds AAA ratings from major international credit rating agencies. Through collaboration with partners, AIIB addresses client needs by mobilizing new capital and investing in infrastructure characterized as green, technology-driven, and conducive to regional connectivity.

The Sectors, Themes, and Finance Solutions Department (STF) promotes technical superiority and broadens the Bank’s financing knowledge across all sectors and themes to back both sovereign and non-sovereign investment operations. It leads the charge in developing and executing innovative investment projects and pioneers the introduction and operational use of new products and financing approaches, often before they are widely adopted by the Client Departments (CDs).

Working closely with the CDs, STF undertakes upstream activities to foster and nurture new initiatives in areas like frontier technologies, public-private partnership (PPP) advisory services, and other productive sectors. It also helps shape the Bank’s corporate strategy by establishing thematic focuses such as Green infrastructure, Technology-enabled infrastructure, Private capital mobilization (PCM), and Cross-border cooperation. Furthermore, the Department aids the Bank’s initiatives on intersecting themes like climate, gender and inclusivity, and nature.

STF also acts as the Bank’s representative in international forums concerning sectoral, thematic, and financing matters, actively engages with other development partners, and bolsters AIIB’s standing as a leading development institution that contributes to the global development framework.

STF is currently seeking a driven Associate possessing a solid grasp of the challenges pertinent to sustainable development, including the climate and nature crises. The Associate will deliver technical and analytical assistance to aid the department in fulfilling its climate-related mandate and operational activities.
