Brief Description

The primary goal of this position is to assist the Economic Statistics Department in delivering comprehensive economic and financial statistics and data, adhering to international best practices. This includes collecting, processing, and performing in-depth analyses of pertinent data within an integrated macroeconomic framework.

Detailed Description

The successful candidate will oversee the following key performance areas:

• Guide the strategic focus areas for the department and enhance oversight on initiative implementation across the statistical value chain.
• Pinpoint strategic challenges, opportunities, and priorities for the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) based on personal analysis of current domestic and global economic activity and research findings.
• Undertake research and analysis to inform policy decisions.
