We are looking for economists to join us in advising clients on some of the most high-profile cases before the European Commission, the General Court, and national competition authorities, regulators, and courts.

About the Role
At Compass Lexecon, we give Analysts the opportunity to make a real impact from day one. As a member of our German-speaking team, you will help clients better understand competition in their industry. You will contribute to cases in various ways, working closely with senior staff to analyze client issues, apply relevant economic theories, and support the analysis with strong empirical evidence.

You will collaborate on both domestic and international projects alongside colleagues across Europe. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to shape and contribute to the growth of our German, Austrian, and Swiss businesses.

Analysts typically join us after completing their Master’s degree in economics and will be based in our Düsseldorf office.

There will be two interview periods: one in December 2024 and one in April 2025 after the application deadline. Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze qualitative and quantitative client data to understand competition in their industry.
• Review literature and contribute to discussions about theoretical and empirical approaches.
• Perform empirical analysis using Excel and Stata.
• Draft reports summarizing your analysis.
• Participate in client meetings and conference calls.

Skills/Profile Sought:

• Master’s degree in economics, with a focus on microeconomics, industrial organization, and/or econometrics.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and clients.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Stata and Excel skills are desirable.
