Job Description

Berkeley Research Group (BRG) is recognized for its expertise in handling antitrust litigation, including analyzing price-fixing claims, assessing competitive effects linked to monopolization or exclusionary practices, and investigating allegations of price discrimination. This role offers a unique chance to apply economic theories to real-world challenges, working alongside esteemed experts in antitrust and competition economics.

This hybrid position is available at major BRG offices, including Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior professionals to deliver economic insights in antitrust cases and other competitive dynamics.
  • Lead and manage workstreams, developing advanced economic and financial models to interpret data.
  • Create, refine, and present expert reports, including analysis and strategic recommendations backed by third-party financial, market, and industry data.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and apply regression techniques using tools such as Stata, R, Python, or SAS.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. (or ABD) in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline, with expertise in industrial organization, microeconomics, or econometrics.
  • Demonstrated experience in antitrust or competition consulting.
  • Strong command of econometric modeling and a proven publication record highlighting technical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and analytical software or database programs (e.g., R, Stata, SAS, SQL).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical abilities.

Salary Range: $125,000–$300,000 annually.
